Idempotency Key Lifespan

Hey Dwolla Devs,

I am currently facing an issue with Dwolla’s idempotency keys in our platform’s ACH transfer logic. The process involves using the idempotency key to either retrieve an existing user or create a new one on Dwolla based on provided email and ID.

During initial testing, the idempotency key performs as expected, but we’ve encountered failures when revisiting the logic after some time. I am seeking clarification on whether Dwolla’s idempotency keys are designed to be perpetual or have a defined lifespan.

Your expertise and insights would be highly valuable in resolving this matter.
Thank you in advance for your time and support.

Hi @Husnain_Saeed,

Our idempotency keys paired with a request body expire after 24 hours. We have more detailed information on our idempotency-keys here in our docs - API Reference | Dwolla API Documentation

If you have any follow up questions, please feel free to let us know!
