Is there an account number and routing number associated with the Dwolla account created for a verified customer account?

Hi there,

In our solution, we make periodic transfers from a linked bank account of verified customer to their Dwolla account. When the balance in the Dwolla account reaches a threshold, we would like to enable our customer to make a payment towards a third party (bill collector). We don’t deal directly with the third parties directly. Ideally, we would like for our customer to make a payment by calling the bill collector and providing the bank account number and routing number to the underlying bank account to debit the amount form it.

Is there an account number and routing number associated with the Dwolla account created for a verified customer account?

If not, what is the recommended flow flow of funds for this use case? It’s not feasible to onboard all of the bill collectors (medical bill collector, etc.) to whom all of our customers could make payments to.

Thanks!

Hi @therealslimshady – thanks for posting! Would you be able to expand on what you’re looking to use the Dwolla Balance for? Also, to clarify, these bill collectors would have no relation with your business, correct?

We currently don’t have an Account and Routing number associated with the Dwolla Balance. You could probably use the Dwolla Balance as a savings wallet for until the funds are ready to be withdrawn into the Customer’s bank account to pay the bill collectors.

Hi @shreya,

Yes, that’s correct! We wouldn’t have a relationship with the bill collectors. The Dwolla balance would be used to pay a bill.

We will think through if withdrawing the funds back to the customer’s account makes sense.

Sound good! Let us know if you come across any questions!
