# Mass Payment insufficient balance

Hi @Usman_Tahir , I’d recommend giving [this post](https://discuss.dwolla.com/t/mass-payments-pay-5-000-people-in-five-simple-steps/5281) a read which goes into greater detail on how Mass Payments work. You’re correct with regards to tracking the status of the payment. We always recommend utilizing webhooks as a means to update your app when the state of a resource has changed. You should get webhook when the mass payment is created and completed, as well as when transfers are created from the items within a Mass Payment batch.
