Add on-demand authorization to existing funding source

(Ben) #1

Say we have 2 customer:

  • A verified customer with a verified funding source. We have the user approve an on-demand authorization when they add verified funding sources. That customer later revokes the on-demand authorization.
  • An unverified customer with a funding source which later upgrades to verified. No on-demand authorization has been created yet.

Are we able to add an on demand authorization to any/either funding source at this point or do they need to remove their funding source and recreate it?

The api docs don’t mention how to remove an on-demand authorization but the integration guide says you must delete the funding source to revoke an on-demand authorization.
Are we able to add an on-demand authorization to an existing funding source?

There isn’t a specific API call to remove an on-demand authorization after it has been applied to a funding source. Currently, the only way to remove the on-demand authorization is to remove the funding source that the on-demand auth is applied to.

You’re not able to add an on-demand authorization to an existing funding source at this time, however I’ll be sure to pass this along as feedback to our Product team. We typically recommend that if your app may need to perform functionality that requires this on-demand authorization that you collect it upfront when the Customer initially adds their funding source.
