Creating a Business Verified Customer

The process to onboard a new BVC in Dwolla seems pretty complex. We built screens out to leverage the api and are able to initiate the process of creating the customer and the beneficial owner. My concern is that there are so many potential scenarios for verification follow up such as several different documents that may or may not be provided, additional questions.

What is the general consensus? Should we drop our approach of building our own ‘component’ of connecting to the api or spend more time handling the various verification scenarios?

thanks, Rick

Hi @Rick – we generally recommend using our drop-in components for Customer onboarding as it abstracts away handling the different scenarios and statuses the customer might fall into throughout the flow. Here’s our step-by-step guide - Building With Drop-in Components | Dwolla API Documentation

Implementing the drop-in component is much less time-consuming that building out the flow yourself. If you do decide to build it out yourself, I would recommend following our guide which enlists all possible scenarios and how to handle them - Implementing the drop-in component is much less time-consuming that building out the flow yourself.

Hope that helps! Let us know if you have any questions!

@Rick , if you don’t want to spend development time on this and would rather have a fully managed service akin to Stripe Connect, send me a private message - I have a service in beta you could try out.
